OUR MISSION The CORE Institute is dedicated to advancing therapeutic massage and bodywork by promoting excellence in somatic education, wellness through professional touch, and service to the community.
The CORE Institute was founded in 1990 by George and Patricia Kousaleos as an entry-level and advanced training massage therapy program. CORE Institute has trained over 1,200 individuals in a 650-hour entry-level licensure program and also taught continuing education courses to over 5,000 massage therapists in the US, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Greece and Australia. The CORE Institute also sponsored a Sports Bodywork team that worked with the British Olympic Association during their preparation camps for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and George Kousaleos was the Co-Director of the International Sports Massage Team at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Since 2011, CORE Institute sponsors the Sports Bodywork Team that provides manual therapy to the athletes of the Florida State University Football Team (2013 National Champions).
After closing the entry-level program in January 2014, CORE Institute currently offers advanced training seminars in CORE Structural Integration, CORE Myofascial Therapy and CORE Sports & Performance Bodywork. CORE Institute also provides approved online Florida CE courses in Professional Ethics, Medical Errors and Florida Law & Rules. CORE Institute is approved as a CE Provider by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy and by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
The CORE Store sells products that support the manual therapies that we teach. George has developed CORE Butter, a natural cocoa butter lubricant for Myofascial Therapy, Structural Integration and Sports Bodywork. CORE Institute also produced an instructional DVD of the CORE Myofascial Therapy protocols. Please visit the CORE Store page to place an order for these and other professional products.
