Florida Laws & Rules

The purpose of this course is to provide the practicing massage therapist with current information regarding Chapters 480 and 456, Florida Statutes, as well as Rule 64B7, Florida Administrative Code, via distance learning.  With twenty (20) Learning Outcomes, this course will cover the full spectrum of licensure, relicensure, and establishment standards, disciplinary guidelines, scope of practice, and client confidentiality issues.

Prevention of Medical Errors for the Massage Therapist

 

This course will inform the practicing massage therapist of the definition of medical errors, including the relevant types of medical errors that occur in the healthcare field and their various approaches for prevention. The course will also cover recommended improvements for patient/client safety, scope of practice concerns, hygiene issues and an understanding of contraindications and endangerment sites.

Professional Massage and Client-Therapist Relationships

The purpose of this course is to provide the Licensed Massage Therapist with current information on the topic of the ethical practice of massage therapy. Specifically, this course focuses on the multiple boundary issues that affect the relationship between the professional massage therapist and the therapeutic massage client.
